A few of the rarest and most
interesting coins of Celtic Britain
come from a small sub-tribe in
Berkshire who briefly issued silver
coins circa 55-45 BC. This beautiful
Abingdon Head silver unit is one
such rarity. Only five other
examples are known and this is by
far the sharpest. Dr Philip de
Jersey says it is "an extraordinary
coin of great rarity and
beauty...simply streets ahead of the
rest in terms of quality." Chris Rudd May List.
