At first glance it may appear to be
a standard Vep CorF gold stater. But
it isn't. It has a ringed pellet
beneath the horse's tail. Only ten
others like this are recorded,
including three in the British
Museum. BMC 3298, struck from the
same pair of dies, apparently came
from the Lightcliffe hoard, circa
1829. Chris Rudd May List.
